The fixtures for the forthcoming 2018/19 season were released this morning on the new look EIHL Website and the individual club websites. The Belfast Giants schedule is once again punctuated by a long road stretch through November.
The campaign will begin once again with the Challenge Cup, games on the road to Dundee and Fife before the season’s home opener against Omar Pacha’s Stars on Friday 14th September.
The Continental Cup weekend at the SSE Arena, 15th – 17th November provides respite from the hefty 16 game road stretch in EIHL competition for the Giants. While fans will also look toward home double headers against Sheffield (5/6 Jan), Manchester (21/22 December) and Cardiff (22/23 Feb) as big weekends at the SSE Arena.
When is comes to road trips, the potential of 3 games in three nights in Scotland against Fife, Glasgow (Braehead) and Dundee across the 2/3/4 November will no doubt see a good number of fans cross the Irish Sea and another double header in South Yorkshire awaits, Belfast spend the weekend of 1/2 December in the Steel City.
Other potential dates for your diary, Giants will hope to defend their Challenge Cup trophy back at Ice Arena Wales on Sunday 10th March, while the Playoff Finals weekend will return to Nottingham on 13/14 April.
