Interviews: Giants Prepare for Home Opener

Tonight the 2018/19 Belfast Giants undertake their first competitive match at the SSE Arena against the Dundee Stars.

Last Sunday the Giants defeated the Stars in the DIA and will be hoping to continue that success as the quest to retain the Challenge cup continues. Since that game the Stars have themselves picked up a win against the Clan.

The Clan themselves, now deemed to be from Glasgow, make their first trip to Belfast on Saturday Night with only 1 point to their record, coming in controversial circumstances against the Flyers. With Pete Russell now at the helm, and some familiar names back in Purple, the Clan have a history of upsets on Queens Island. Yet the Giants opening form has them as square favourites at home.

Both games are Challenge Cup, with the first EIHL game coming on Wednesday evening at home against the Nottingham Panthers.
