Following a season of silverware for the Belfast Giants, Colin Shields completed his final professional ice hockey game with a 4-3 victory as Team GB retianed their positon in Championship level of the IIHF World Championships and condemned a dispondant French side to relgation to Division I.
GB fought back from 3-0 down to bring the game to OT where Ben Davis sent GB fans into elation with the winner.
Following the game Simon Kitchen, of A View from the Bridge, spoke with Colin about his career, his experiences in the GB camp, disappointment at not getting selected for the game against Canada and his delight at the fact he has helped his team mates gain the chance to fight again at next years IIHF World Championships in Switzerland.
